Summary of Patient Rights and Responsibilities Any patient seeking care at Sharon Regional Health System has a right to medical and nursing services without discrimination based upon race, color, religion, sexual preference or national origin. Medical and nursing services are provided with consideration to the patient's personal values and beliefs. Patients and families will be given an opportunity to participate in decisions regarding care; these decisions include the refusal of care or treatments. Patients have the right to confidentiality in all aspects of their care and a right to privacy during care, consultation or visiting. The Health System will respect the patient's right to an advance directive or surrogate decision-maker for decisions regarding care and treatment. Financial Assistance Information Sharon Regional has a Charity Care Program, and information regarding federal, state, and local programs available to provide financial assistance.
