10 graduate from School of Radiography
Ten students graduated Friday evening August 20 from the Sharon Regional Health
System School of Radiography during ceremonies at the Shenango Valley Civic
Center, Sharon.
Jessica Johnson, of Bessemer, received the Mallinckrodt Award, which the
faculty presents to the student who has the highest academic and clinical excellence.
Charlotte Farrand, clinical instructor, and Kimberly Valimont, last year's recipient,
presented the award.
Other graduates of the Class of 2004 were: Jacque Barborak and Kristi Nieswonger,
of West Middlesex; Ashlee Durney and Danielle Knox, of Greenville; Laura Steltzer,
Mercer; Kelly Thomas, Farrell; Angeline Martin, Austintown, Ohio, Becky Stull,
Brookfield; and Rocky Mollica, Youngstown, Ohio.
Speakers included John R. Janoso, Jr., vice president and CIO of Sharon Regional;
Dr. Barry Marchetto, chief radiologist, Regional Imaging Associates; Joanne
Esposito, Medical Imaging director at Sharon Regional; Sherry A. Masotto, program
director, School of Radiography; Lois Fairfield, senior clinical instructor;
and Charlotte Farrand, clinical instructor.
The graduates presented the Jamie McNamara-Joseph Memorial Award, which was
given to Don Sager, CT technologist.
The graduates also presented a slide show of their past two years in school.
Marilyn Emrick, first year student, was Mistress of Ceremonies. Elizabeth Freed
gave the Dinner Prayer.
Sharon Regional's School of Radiography offers a 24-month accredited program,
with a new class starting each September.
