Sharon Regional Health System sponsors seminar on new
treatment for Parkinson's Disease
Sharon Regional Health System's Parkinson's Support Group is sponsoring
the seminar "Deep Brain Stimulation as Treatment for Parkinson's Disease"
September 14, 12 noon-3 p.m., at Hermitage HealthPLACE, 2360 Highland Road.
The featured speakers are Ali Rezai, M.D., and Erwin Montgomery, Jr., M.D.,
co-directors of the Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional and Restorative
Neuroscience. The Center specializes in deep brain stimulation therapy for
patients with movement disorders such as Parkinson's Disease, essential
tremor, dystonia, and tremor due to multiple sclerosis.
Other speakers are Kathy Wilson, advanced practical nurse, and Andrea Smith,
manager of the Clinic's Functional Neurosurgery Program.
