21 graduate from Sharon Regional’s School of Nursing

Twenty-one students graduated Friday evening (April 26) from Sharon Regional’s School of Nursing during ceremonies at Sharon High School. It was the first class to complete the school’s new 16-month curriculum.

Pinky Carrido, of Greenville, earned the Nursing Proficiency Award, which the faculty presents to the student who best exemplifies attributes needed to be a competent and caring clinical practitioner. Carrido took pre-requisite classes at Penn State University and Thiel College and graduated from high school in The Philippines.

Other graduates were: Jennifer Batley, of New Wilmington; Jennifer Clay, of Cortland, OH; Melissa Crawford, of Greenville; Shawna DeCarmen, of Transfer; Alicia Dengler, of Saegertown; Vince Gibson, of Masury, OH; Beth Ann Gregory, of Mercer; Rebecca Jovenall, of Pulaski; Todd Lewis, of New Castle; Christina Marsh, of Austintown, OH; Lona Moore, of Sharon; Christie Plizga, of Warren, OH; Georgianna Sumner, of Sharon; Michele Swartz, of Sharpsville; Lisa Truchan, of West Middlesex; Andrea Peters-Waterman, of Sharpsville; Christopher Williams, of Sharon; Wendy Woods, of Sandy Lake; Miranda Wylie, Hubbard, OH; and Angela Zeronas, of Sharon.

Benita Fisher, MSN, RN, a former member of the school’s faculty who now is director of staff development at Boardman Care Center, gave the graduation address. Harold Rosenblum, former chairman of the Health System board of directors, presented diplomas.

Nora Bennett, MSN, RN, director of the School of Nursing presented pins, and Sherry Greenburg, MSN, RN, assistant director of the school, presented the proficiency award and honor cords.

Thomas Petricini, MSN, RN, a school instructor, read students’ personal notes of thanks. John Davidson, vice president of human resources, was master of ceremonies.
