Sharon Regional welcomes radiologists

Sharon Regional recently welcomed two radiologists, Surendra V. Pawar, M.D., and Frederick T. Borts, M.D., from Allegheny Radiology Associates, Ltd. (ARA), who are based full time at the hospital. ARA is the exclusive provider of general diagnostic and advanced imaging services at Sharon Regional and its affiliated satellite centers. The group also provides imaging services to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, a member of the West Penn Allegheny Health System.

Dr. Borts is board certified in diagnostic radiology and most recently was a diagnostic radiologist at Queen’s Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii. He served in similar positions at several other hospitals around the U.S. Dr. Borts served a fellowship in neuroradiology, a residency in diagnostic radiology, and internship in “straight medical” and earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington, DC.

Dr. Pawar is board certified and most recently was with Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights, PA., and also served in similar positions at several other hospitals around western Pennsylvania. Dr. Pawar served a diagnostic radiology residency and a surgical residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY, a surgical residency and a rotating internship at SSG Hospital M.S., Baroda, India, graduated from medical school at Baroda Medical College.

Both Pawar and Dr. Borts have presented extensively on topics within radiology and co-authored articles in numerous professional publications.
