Sharon Regional welcomes six new radiologists

Sharon Regional Health System has announced the addition of six new radiologists to its medical imaging department.

Radiologists Edward Walker, M.D., Ronald Brennan, M.D., William Crawford, M.D., Peter Kanistros, M.D., and Jorge Martinez, M.D., are members of Radiology Associates of Warren, an established, comprehensive radiology group comprised of experienced, local radiologists. Barry Marchetto, M.D., a radiologist who came to Sharon Regional in 2000, has also joined the new radiology group. The new radiologists are providing a full range of medical imaging services to Sharon Regional’s patients and physicians.

Also joining Sharon Regional is radiologist Dean Ball, D.O., an affiliate member of Radiology Associates of Warren, who is devoting a major portion of his time at Sharon Regional to mammography and stereotactic breast biopsies.

Dr. Walker received his medical education from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo and completed his internship/medical imaging residency at Akron General Medical Center. Dr. Brennan, who previously served as a radiologist at Sharon Regional from 1988-1991, completed his medical education at Hahnemann University College of Medicine in Philadelphia and medical imaging residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland. Dr. Kanistros received his medical education from Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton and served a diagnostic radiology residency at Northeast Ohio University College of Medicine. He then completed a fellowship in nuclear medicine/nuclear cardiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Martinez completed his medical education at Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He also served a diagnostic radiology residency at Northeast Ohio University College of Medicine and then completed a fellowship in body imaging and vascular ultrasound at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Ball received his medical education from the University of Osteopathic Medicine & Health Sciences in Des Moines followed by a diagnostic radiology residency at Michigan State University and nuclear medicine fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
