April 2003 Partnership with Shenango Valley Mall Sharon Regional has entered into an agreement with the Shenango Valley Mall to become the Mall's exclusive health care partner. One of the first initiatives of the partnership is the installation of an automatic external defibrillator (AED) as part of a comprehensive health and safety program designed to provide a safe and productive environment for all Shenango Valley Mall employees and customers. The partnership, which began in January, also allows Sharon Regional to enhance the mall walkers' program through the installation of mileage marker and exercise signs throughout the mall. Sharon Regional also has the opportunity to utilize the mall throughout the year to promote their specialized programs and services. "We certainly applaud the Mall's efforts in recognizing the importance of providing an AED for mall shoppers and the store employees," stated Sergio Segarra, M.D., FACEP, director of Emergency Medicine at Sharon Regional. "We led the way several years ago by providing a number of AEDs to our local police, fire, and rescue departments and have seen first-hand the lives that they've saved." |  |
