Jon Kolb, MS, named director of wellness and fitness at Sharon Regional Health
System
Jon Kolb, MS, recently was named director of wellness and fitness at Sharon
Regional Health System. The responsibilities for Kolb, who has been with Sharon
Regional for the past five years, have been expanded to include administrative
and programmatic oversight of all wellness program and The Personal Fitness
Center, 177 Snyder Rd., Hermitage.
Kolb has developed specialized exercise and fitness programs for children and
those with diabetes, arthritis, cerebral palsy cancer, and balance difficulties
along with working in The Personal Fitness Center and assisting in the Athletic
Training Plus program.
Kolb earned a Bachelor's in physical education from Oklahoma State University
and a Master's in exercise science from Slippery Rock University. He played
he played left tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1969 to 1981 and helped
lead them to championships in Super Bowls IX, X, XIII and XIV. In 1982 he was
inducted into the Western Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame and elected to the
All-Time Steelers football team.
Other achievements include a recent induction into the Oklahoma State University
Hall of Honor and 1st place in the 1981 National Football League Strongest Man
Contest on ESPN.
