Sharon Regional using national firm to monitor emergency department patient satisfaction

Sharon Regional is utilizing Press Ganey Associates from South Bend, Indiana to conduct satisfaction studies on patients using its emergency room.

Utilizing a survey mailed to a representative sampling of emergency department patients, all aspects of patients' visits are monitored including arrival, nursing care, treatment provided, tests, family issues, insurance processing, personal issues, and overall satisfaction.

"We recognize the importance to this region of having a strong Emergency Care Center ready to handle not only the critical, life-threatening emergencies but also the minor emergencies that families encounter that need prompt medical attention," stated Wayne Johnston, president and CEO of Sharon Regional.
