Dr. Emil Maurer brings advanced anesthesiology techniques to Sharon Regional


Emil A. Maurer, Jr., M.D., Anesthesiology, recently joined the medical staff at Sharon Regional. Dr. Maurer specializes in peripheral nerve blocks, increasingly a technique of choice for anesthesia and postoperative pain management in orthopedic, plastic, and peripheral vascular surgery. These nerve blocks also can be used in the treatment of acute and chronic pain through Sharon Regional's Comprehensive Pain Management Center.

Dr. Maurer earned his doctor of medicine from the MCP-Hahnemann School of Medicine, Philadelphia, and served residencies at The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, and Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Pennsylvania Society of Anesthesiologists, and Western Pennsylvania Society of Anesthesiologists.

Dr. Maurer resides in Hermitage with his wife, Christina, and three daughters.
