Angela Palumbo, Bill Perrine join Sharon Regional board of directors

Angela Palumbo

Two local community leaders with years of community involvement, Angela Palumbo and Bill Perrine, recently joined Sharon Regional’s board of directors. Ms. Palumbo is presently the CareerLink Administrator for the Pennsylvania CareerLink Mercer County and Perrine is President and CEO of Sharon Tube Company.

Re-elected to the board at its recent annual meeting were Cloyd Brenneman, Stephen Gurgovits, John Hudson, Kenneth James, Robert Jazwinski, and Leonard Miller. Other board members include James Feeney, Joseph Bolotin, M.D., Karen Winner Hale, William Strimbu, Larry Baling, M.D., Robert Liptak, Gene Marcelli, M.D., Harold Rosenblum, and Leo Winger.

Ms. Palumbo’s community service positions include board memberships of West Central Workforce Investment Board, Mercer County Career Center’s Perkins Participatory Planning Committee, Hermitage Community and Economic Development Committee, Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce, LindenPointe Tech Center Planning Committee, United Way of Mercer County, Shenango Valley Urban League, Business Institute of Pennsylvania, Butler Community College Advisory Board, Northwest Pennsylvania Cooperation Council, Precision Manufacturing Institute Supervisory Skills Advisory Board, Greater Sharon Associates, and several economic development committees throughout Mercer County.

Ms. Palumbo graduated from Bradford Business College in Pittsburgh and also completed the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and industry’s Management Development Institute and the Pennsylvania State University’s Workforce Development Training Program.

Bill Perrine

Perrine’s community involvement includes serving on the Buhl Trustees; Pennsylvania State University’s Shenango Advisory Board; Chairman of the Board of the Penn Northwest Development Corporation; Shenango Valley Industrial Development Corporation Board; Strimbu Memorial Fund Board; Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (Scottish Rite Cathedral) Board; past chairman of the United Way of Mercer County; Youngstown Air Reserve Base Community Council, Inc.; Industrial Information Institute for Education, Inc. Board; along with memberships in numerous pipe and tube trade associations.

Perrine has more than 34 years of experience in the steel pipe and tube industry. He began his career in 1971 with Sharon Tube Company as a laborer in the hot mill. He subsequently advanced through successive assignments in direct supervision, operations management, technical services, human resources, and project management, and was promoted to General Superintendent of Operations in 1986. From 1988 to 1992 he worked for pipe and tube companies in West Virginia and Missouri, returning to Sharon Tube Company as Vice President of Operations. He assumed his current role as President and CEO in January of 2002.

Perrine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science/Chemistry from Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Youngstown State University.
