Join us for "Spring to Health" May 3 at Hickory High School
Auditorium
Former supermodel Kim Alexis will be the featured
speaker at "Spring to Health 2003" Saturday, May 3, 6 p.m.-9 p.m. in the Hickory
High School auditorium. The evening is sponsored by NuBridge Development, Inc.
in association with Sharon Regional. The goal of the event is to help educate
the community regarding the benefits of healthy living by providing information
on diet, fitness, health screenings, and key health risks.
"I foresee this being a great event for the community,
one that we can do on an annual basis," says Shane Nugent, vice president of
NuBridge. "Our family has enjoyed great success in the Shenango Valley for almost
50 years. This event is just one way for us to contribute something back to
our community. We have a wonderful evening planned and hope all can join us
to celebrate the benefits of healthy living."
Adds Wendy Karlovic, RN, education director/risk
manager, "A portion of the proceeds from 'Spring To Health' will go to the local
chapters of the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross. This
will be an exciting community event for Shenango Valley and the surrounding
areas."
"This promises to be a great program - featuring
the best of what's available locally for women along with an opportunity to
hear a national speaker like Kim Alexis," said Michalene Gula, RN, BSN, director
of Sharon Regional's Women's Center. "It's a perfect opportunity for Sharon
Regional to feature its Women's HeartAdvantage Program,
Women's Center, Breast Care Center, and other specialized services we have for
women."
Maryann Payne, M.D., cardiothoracic surgeon in
Sharon Regional's Heart Institute, will speak on "Heart Health for Women - Taking
Charge." A formal, private VIP reception at Rachelle House, 941 East State St.,
Sharon, where guests can meet Kim Alexis, follows the forum at the high school.
"At NuBridge Development, we focus on meeting
the communities' development and educational needs by providing events that
promote quality living," says Diane Pagkalinawan, NuBridge director of public
relations says. "What better way to start than bringing 'Spring To Health' to
our community."
