Sharon Regional accredited by American College of Radiology
Ultrasound services in Sharon Regional Health System's Medical Imaging
Department have been awarded a three-year term of accreditation as a result
of a survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
The ACR awards accreditation to an ultrasound practice for the achievement
of high practice standards after a voluntary inspection. Evaluations are
conducted by radiologists who are ACR members with special expertise in ultrasound.
The assess the quality of the work being performed as well as the qualifications
of the personnel. The reviewers report their findings to the ACR's Ultrasound
Accreditation Committee that provides a comprehensive report.
The American College of Radiology is a national organization servicing more
than 30,000 radiologists, radiation oncologists and medical physicists with
programs focusing on the practice of radiology and the delivery of comprehensive
health services. ACR Committee on Ultrasound Accreditation evaluates and accredits
ultrasound practices in hospitals and private offices in the U.S.
