Now, patients with multiple trauma, chest pain, strokes and other serious illnesses can be treated at the expanded Emergency Care Center at Sharon Regional Health System, the most advanced emergency medical facility in Mercer County. ![]() This ultramodern center has more than doubled in size and offers highly specialized areas for the treatment of virtually every type of emergency situation. Special areas include trauma rooms, chest pain rooms (Mercer County's only facility for advanced heart attack care), an isolation room and the County's only hazardous materials decontamination room. There also are specialized treatment rooms for orthopedic patients and women with gynecological problems. Equipped with the latest high-tech equipment, chest pain/stroke centers, Express Care Center and occupational fast track, the new Emergency Care Center brings together a team of emergency professionals not typically found in basic hospital emergency rooms. Sharon Regional exceeds national guidelines for heart attack care Express Care offers fast and convenient treatment of minor illnesses and injuries. The Express Care area has separate rooms for children, those with eye, nose and throat ailments and patients with various behavioral health problems. Patients using Express Care will be seen and evaluated by a member of our Emergency Care Center medical staff. An occupational fast track is available to employees of contracted companies of Sharon Regional's Corporate Health Services. Open around the clock, fast track includes a medical evaluation of the employee within minutes on a priority basis of arriving at the Emergency Care Center. Within one hour of the visit, employers get a phone call that explains work status. ![]() Many lacerations and surgical incisions can be repaired without stitches in the Emergency Care Center using Dermabond (TM) adhesive, which is specifically designed to safely, easily and effectively hold the edges of a laceration together until it begins to heal.
