Substance Abuse Programs

The purpose of Behavioral Health Services Substance Abuse Programs is for clients to understand the concept of addiction as a disease, to take responsibility for the consequences of their addiction and to be accountable for their recovery, as well as to remain abstinent.

The programs address denial, powerlessness, unmanageability, and distorted thinking styles. An emphasis is placed on the utilization of twelve-step fellowships to assist clients in achieving and maintaining abstinence from all mood-altering chemicals.

A strong feature of our Substance Abuse Programs is the flexibility of the treatment schedule, which includes morning and evening individual and group sessions. This flexibility allows individuals to continue to work, attend school and/or take care of childcare needs while they receive treatment for their addiction.

All of our staff hold a minimum of a Master's degree and possess at least 12 years of experience in the field of addictions counseling. A number of our counselors hold additional licensing in areas of social work, professional counseling, as well as certification in addiction's counseling.

Sharon Regional Behavioral Health Services offers two levels of substance abuse care:

  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
  • Traditional Outpatient (OP)

The Adult Intensive Outpatient Program is offered at our main facility in Hermitage. The Traditional Outpatient Program is offered at our main facility in Hermitage and at our satellite in Mercer.
