Breast Care Center

Breast Care Physician Team: Dedicated breast surgeons and radiologists specializing in breast imaging are a vital part of the program and are based at the Center. Several of the physicians directly involved in the Center are featured here. They are: front, Betty Shindel, M.D., MPH, and William Poller, M.D., radiologists who specialize in breast imaging; and back, from left: Dennis Ulewicz, M.D., Director of Radiation Oncology; George Garrow, M.D., Director of Medical Oncology; Ravi Sachdevi, M.D., general/breast surgeon; and Donald Keenan, M.D., Ph.D., dedicated breast surgeon.

Other physicians closely involved with the Breast Care Center include medical oncologists Cynthia Sile, M.D., and Jeffrey Gryn, M.D.; and pathologists Jamie Adam, M.D., Ph.D., and Jason Bennett, M.D.

Breast Care Center

The Breast Care Center of Sharon Regional is dedicated to meeting the physical and emotional needs of women throughout the mammography screening, diagnosis, surgical intervention, and treatment process. Our nurse works closely with other members of the Breast Care Center team to provide women with personalized education and support.

The Breast Care Center is located in Sharon Regional’s new Diagnostic & Imaging Center, 2435 Garden Way, Hermitage.

Specific services

• Complete Diagnostic Services
• Digital Mammography
• Breast MRI and Ultrasound
• Ultrasound and Stereotactic Brest Biopsy
• Same Day Mammography Results
• On-site Breast Imaging Specialists
• Dedicated Breast Surgeons with on-site Consultations
• Provide information and support to women who facing further breast diagnostic tests and/or those with a diagnosis of breast cancer who face surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation.
• Provide education and support as needed to post biopsy patients.
• Conduct educational programs for the community on breast care, breast cancer prevention, and treatment options.
• Provide education to physician offices regarding breast cancer detection, new services available at Sharon Regional, and confirm that any necessary follow-up testing or treatment is initiated.
• Insure a continuum of care among primary care physicians, surgeons, radiologists, oncologists, and all other staff involved with mammography services, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Coordinate referrals to community resources as appropriate.
